Blogger’s block

Don’t snort. Blogger’s block, which is the blog owner’s equivalent of writer’s block, does exist! I have had it many times myself. So, what can you do to get over this particular hurdle and move on to smooth sailing (typing)? Well, there are many remedies and solutions, and each blogger finds their own way to come up with decent writing material.

Some of my favorites for getting over blogger’s block and being inspired enough to write again include:

Reading other blogs. You just never know when a particularly moving, thought provoking, memory triggering or even infuriating post will inspire you to write several paragraphs in response.

Reading the news. There’s always something to talk about when reading the news. Instead of calling your mom or emailing your friend with, “Did you see that article about [article content]?!“, blog about it.

Reading a book. A good book will inspire you to talk about it.

Using better blogging books as a guide. I particularly like No One Cares What You Had For Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog. I bought it last fall, and it sits on my desk, ready to be used at a moment’s notice!
