One of my favorite features of Twitter is being able to direct replies to specific tweets that a user has posted. This makes it very easy to reference what you’re talking about when you’re responding to someone on your followers list, and it makes it easy for others to see who you’re talking to and what you are talking about. When you use the reply feature, a little link to the original tweet is placed beneath your tweet.
The @ Reply WordPress plugin works in the same manner. A little comment reply link is added to each individual comment, and you can click on the link to generate the anchor link in the comment reply box. I’m probably not doing a very good job of describing what the plugin does, so here are two screenshots that demonstrate exactly how it works:
The plugin is very easy to install (drop in wp-content/plugins and install via the WP admin area) and very easy to customize.
