So few people make their own WordPress themes. Even less take the time to personalize the pre-made themes that they use. Now, I understand not being familiar with the various codes and formatting issues that WordPress requires, but there’s no excuse to not at least modify some of the colors or change the taglines or included photos for many themes.
For the record, if you know basic HTML & CSS, or just HTML, you can definitely put together a theme. Most of the formatting requirements for WordPress are straightforward, and the only trouble you might run into would be with index.php, since it is the page that displays all of your blog entries.
In closing, whether you’re blogging about lab coats or the latest makeup you purchased from Avon, try to present your words in an original style. Make your own theme, but if you can’t do that, at least add some personal touches to the pre-made one that you’re using!
