All that glitters

Since I spend so much time at my desk, it only makes sense to make it as comfortable as possible, and as inviting. Comfort-wise, I keep a clean work area, and I use an angled laptop tray (this Rubbermaid one) to have plenty of typing angles to make use of. I also try to think about convenience, and keep USB ports, lens cloth & cleaner and pens, pencils, tape and scissors within reach. I have the docks for my small digital camera (that’s digital camera, not digital camcorders. I only wish I had one of those! I’ll take a Flip, thank you very much!), my Nikon battery and iPod plugged in at all times, so recharging whatever is quite easy. :)

As far as visual appeal goes, I have a spiffy pink desk lamp, a digital photo frame (a birthday gift from my friend Jason), two frogs & a snail, and a small USB powered glitter lamp, which I just purchased tonight. I got it at Target for $7.99 — iEssentials is the brand. I couldn’t find a product link online, but the generic USB Mini Lava Lamp should do the trick!

Here’s a picture of mine in action:
