I’m one for organization. And while WordPress and the thousands of plugins that developers have created provide many awesome solutions for blogs, the dashboard is often a bit cluttered. And if you have screen real estate to think about — and I do with both my netbook and my MacBook — and like to find things easily, then you may find yourself getting irritated with the standard setup of the dashboard.
Without further ado, here is my WordPress dashboard:
No, this is not an out-of-the-box setup. But it’s a setup that’s easy to accomplish by installing the following two plugins:
Fluency Admin creates the spiffy sidebar navigation (complete with many options, including hiding sub-menus by default — accessible by hovering over the parent category — and even adjusting the width of the sidebar or hiding it altogether!), and Sort Admin Menus allows you to re-organize your menus. I choose to organize each of my sub-menus alphabetically — makes the most sense to me!
With a better organized dashboard, you can stop hunting around for certain elements and get straight to writing about adipozin, or whatever else it is that you blog about.
Do you know of any cool WordPress dashboard/admin plugins? If so, let me know about them — I’m always interested in trying something new!

Whoops, oversight — I fixed that!
